Candle Safety

At Lit. Candle Co, we want you to enjoy every moment of your candle experience—but with all candles, safety comes first. Please follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and satisfying burn every time.

⚠️ Warning

  • Burn within sight.

  • Keep away from anything that can catch fire.

  • Keep away from children and pets.

Candle Safety Instructions

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  2. Never use water to extinguish a candle.

  3. Keep wicks upright and trimmed to 7mm (1/4 inch) before each use.

  4. Burn candles for an appropriate duration:

    • 24 oz: 2–4 hours

    • 16 oz: 1–4 hours

    • 2 oz: 30 minutes–2 hours

  5. Stop use when 10mm (1/2 inch) of wax remains in the bottom of the jar.

  6. Never move a burning candle. Allow it to fully cool and harden before handling.

  7. Glass may become hot—always place candles on a flat, heat-resistant surface.

  8. Avoid drafts, vents, or ceiling fans.

  9. Keep away from children, pets, and anything flammable.

  10. Do not use the lid to extinguish the flame.

Candle Care Guide

Tips for getting the best burn from your Lit. Candle Co creation:

  1. Keep wicks centered and trimmed to prevent soot buildup.

  2. Make sure the flame does not touch the side of the container.

  3. Do not burn if the glass is cracked, chipped, or damaged.

  4. Always light all wicks if your candle has more than one.

  5. Keep wax clear of debris like wick trimmings or matches.

  6. If glass becomes blackened, extinguish and clean with a dry paper towel once cool.

  7. Cover your candle when not in use to prevent dust buildup.

  8. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish; if unavailable, blow gently and steadily.

  9. Burn time varies based on scent, color, environment, and habits.
